Citations

Persons who are observed violating a University Traffic and Parking Regulation or MS Traffic Law may be issued a citation for the specific violation.

Citations must be paid online using the link below:

Appealing a Citation

After receiving email notification of the violation, students may file an appeal with the Office of Student Life within seven (7) business days from the date of the citation. To do so, visit the Ticket Appeals web page or click the “Appeal a Citation Here” button on UPD’s main page.

Employees requesting an appeal should email their appeal to police@7672049.com. Upon submission, the Chief of Police will examine the appeal and if appropriate refer the hearing committee.

In lieu of the above procedure, violators may request the citation be transferred to the Bolivar County District II Justice Court.

The following items may not be used when filing an appeal:

1. Ignorance of regulation or state law.
2. Unable to find a valid parking space.
3. No parking space available.
4. Inclement weather.
5. Being late for class.
6. Improper display of permit.
7. Failure to purchase a permit.

Additional Information

UPD may remove (tow) the vehicle of any person who operates or parks a motor vehicle on the Delta State campus in violation of the law, university regulations, or has their privileges suspended. Such a person shall be responsible for any costs incurred from towing and impounding the vehicle. This person may not hold the University and its official liable for any damage to the vehicle resulting from enforcement action, towing, or storing.

UPD will remove any vehicle that is illegally parked, abandoned, found on the campus with no license plate, or parked causing a hazard to vehicular or pedestrian traffic under the same stipulation as stated in Section VI., E. Mississippi Code, 1972.

NOTE: UPD will have any vehicle that is broken down and has been parked on campus for over one month removed from campus at the owner’s expense unless otherwise approved by the department director.
